Knowledge Base: Model import guidelines for Other 3d modeling software. You will need to test which might work best. Unsupported software may use some different approaches when they export the model. However, although a file format might be the same, it does not mean that Lumion will always be able to cleanly import the model. Other 3d modeling software may also export to one of the above file formats. Along with direct import using LiveSync for software such as: SketchUp, Revit, ArchiCAD, Vectorworks, AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, BricsCAD, AutoDesk FormIT, and AllPlan. The supported model file formats are as follows: If anyone has any suggestions of materials, or material settings to get the lights to display correctly on the water at night it would be greatly appreciated.Lumion supports most common CAD and BIM software. I have tried many different combinations with the preset LumenRT water materials (then adjusting / testing the adjustments available), the preset LumenRT mirror material (and adjusting the roughness, and/or metallic settings), the preset LumenRT varnished materials (adjusting the roughness and metallic settings), and multiple water and mirror PBR materials delivered with ORD. so that we see the shadow of the object vs the reflection, but I am trying to render a bridge at night, and the water setting materials available in both ORD and LumenRT do not give a reflection of the bridge or object (like trees) added in LumenRT, therefore the lights do not reflect at night either. Normally I can make this work by changing the time of day, view, etc. I found that the water materials have the shadow of objects around them, but not the reflection. Has anyone found a good combination of setting to get a reflective material in LumenRT? To accomplish the same thing for VUE you can increase or decrease the amount of Decay using the Atmosphere Editor.

The Air Quality settings have been removed from Light Manager these settings worked with Luxology but not for VUE renderings. NOTE: The path tracer now honors the diffuse value setting whereas in previous versions diffuse was ignored by the path tracer. TIP: Use Fast Preview with Path Trace to adjust the solar intensity and cloudiness or make changes to atmosphere settings to immediately visualize the effects.

Ignore atmosphere on map is turned off for the Alsace_CCM environment meaning an atmosphere setting such as decay will be seen on the image. Two new Environment map-based environments were added to the Atmosphere Editor one being a compact cube map and the other one being spherical. A few new water materials were added to the Water palette that should work well when rendered with VUE's path tracer.ģD Line Styles now render correctly with VUE. When you increase the cloudiness the contribution of sky lighting is increased.Īs mentioned in a previous blog post the Bentley_Materials.DGNLIB was updated to improve transparent and refractive materials such as water and glass. With VUE the solar intensity can be changed independently from cloudiness.

These settings work a bit differently (better) than they did with Luxology where increasing cloudiness decreased solar intensity. If you were trying to change these values then it's possible to see the results in MicroStation 2023 leading to dark renderings. These settings were not working in MicroStation CONNECT Edition for VUE. Just to let everyone know changes were made in MicroStation 2023 for Solar Lighting and Cloudiness so that Solar Intensity and Cloudiness now work with VUE for both the Ray Tracer and the Path Tracer renderings.
